Donations will be sent directly to two trusted Search & Rescue NGO’S in Turkey; AKUT. Org Search & Rescue Association and Ahbap.org. Both have been vetted so you can be assured your generous donations are reaching those in immediate need.

About the disaster: Late last night (Feb 5th), Southern Turkiye and neighboring Northern Syria was decimated by the worst earthquake Turkiye has seen in over 100 years. With the death toll at 3700, climbing, and over 14,000 injured, we are reaching out for help to support our homeland in its relief efforts.

The affected areas of Antakya, Gaziantep, and Southern Turkey is where Oddbird started 7 years ago, in the generationally-owned weaving studios, most of which have been left in rubble after the 7.8 earthquake. We have thankfully been able to reach our weavers and confirm their safety, however, while they may be safe today, they live in fear of an aftershock and will be spending the night in their cars, in below-0 temperatures. Some are still searching for their friends and family in the collapsed buildings and in crowds of mourning survivors.
