Q. We are so excited to delve into your inspirational work with you! To get us started could you tell us a bit about who you are & what you do?
A. My name is Arielle Estoria, I am a Poet, Author, Actor and magic maker as I’ve adopted as of late. I do a lot of things like most LA residents, but the heart of what I do is words not for the ears but for the souls and cultivating spaces where people can be big feelers and their fullest self. A lot of my work revolves around inner connecting with yourself and understanding yourself deeply so that you can do the same for those around you. On a less deeper note, I have a deep love for breakfast, even deeper love for Adele and I love the beach especially at winter time but don’t ask me to get in the water because I’m a shore mermaid thank you.
Q. Can you share the journey that led you to become a poet, author, speaker, and actor? What inspired you to pursue these diverse forms of expression?
A. Goodness, it’s been a long one. I graduated from college in 2015 with a degree in Psychology with a sprinkle of arts along the way and i just kept hitting a wall with what to pursuit and the draw to being creative kept calling to me, so I listened. The diversity comes from having too, in order to do this creative life you really do have to diversify and expand your expertise so that you can keep showing up in different rooms. I also love being on stage and being in front of the camera and writing words in a corner by myself and hosting creative spaces, I love all of it so it just felt natural to be diverse in what I love to do.
Q. Your educational history is so unique! How did your studies in psychology and theater converge in your career path and influence you as the creative you are today?
A. I initially wanted to pursue theater but I am an oldest child and was very practical (or thought I needed to be) I knew going into college however that I wanted to study psychology also because no matter what I did, it would be dealing and connecting with people and so in order to connect and work with people, I wanted to understand them better. Initially I pursued theater and acting to go into play therapy for children because I love(d) working with children and I loved working with children on varying spectrums. The more I got involved in theater and poetry in college, the more that shifted however I have always been a creatively driven person and that’s always what fueled me.
