Introducing Oddbird’s Blessing Blanket (Bereket)
Two years in the making, this heirloom piece was created to honor the centuries-old Turkish tradition of gifting textiles as talismans of protection, prosperity, and love.
Each motif in this handcrafted piece carries deep meaning: The Pomegranate and the Sacred Nazar come together as one unified symbol – a powerful merging of abundance and protection, meant to watch over the home while inviting a life that continues to flourish. Four olive leaves, long-time emblems of peace and harmony, are joined by two circles symbolizing wholeness and a protected inner space. Along the border, a rising fern represents renewal and resilience, while small X motifs act as protective crossings, sealing the piece with intention and a promise of safety.
As traditional textile arts in Türkiye fade rapidly in the rush toward faster and cheaper, we hope to keep this ancestral ritual alive. The Blessing Blanket is our love letter to that lineage – a meaningful heirloom to gift someone you cherish as they step into a new year wrapped in protection, abundance, and good will. A piece that will bring them comfort in more ways than one 🙏🏼
Please note that our beautiful handcrafted blankets are washed in a traditional Turkish soap right off the looms to eliminate any allergens that accumulate from the weaving process. The soap is scented with a fragrance that has been beloved by our community and part of the Oddbird brand for over 8 years.
The scent will slowly dissipate with laundering (which is often a sad day for our customers!) but may not be appropriate for those sensitive to fragrance.

While I love the pattern and the color, it is not the size I expected for a King cover. I guess I missed or disregarded the dimensions in the description. The width is fine but it is barely the length (headboard to footboard) of the mattress with no overhang. I expected longer given the photo in the product description and in this survey. Photos of this cover and the older Queen sized it replaced (with the top 5" turned back) are attached for comparison

W totally understand that the blanket dimensions feel a little strange so I wanted to take a moment to explain how its designed to fit.
Our Mosaic Blanket website listing features a video where we break down exactly how this blanket is designed to fit a King-sized bed (which its pictured on). Due to the limitations placed on us by the shuttle looms we use, we opted to add more length to the blanket which actually assists in helping the blanket to be transitional from a Full sized bed up to a King!Of course, if you feel this doesn't suit your needs we can happily start a return. I’d been eyeing one of these blankets for a while but couldn’t settle on a color—they’re all stunning. I finally went with the mystery box and let fate decide, and I’m so glad I did. I received the Turquoise, and it’s perfect. Blue is my favorite color, and the blue-green mosaic complements my space beautifully.
The weight is ideal for summer, and I can already tell it’ll transition nicely into fall and winter. I would absolutely purchase again—and I’m hoping they bring back the Crimson Mosaic. Thank you, Odd Bird!

I had the original blanket in mustard stolen a couple years ago and was HEARTBROKEN. Finally was able to replace it with the new version and it's every bit as divine. The perfect neutral truly lives up to its name and it's the perfect weight. I was so excited for a little bed refresh! And I have no idea what smell is woven into this blanket, but it filled my whole room for days and it was absolutely luxurious.
