Born from a 6-year love affair with Oddbird's beloved Ottoman Blanket, our newest addition is everything you loved (and collected!) in our staple Oddbird piece... but dare we say... now perfected?!
Inspired by the ancient Iznik tile-work that meticulously canvases the historic mosques of Turkiye, our Mosaic Blanket features a modern interpretation of a traditional patchwork design, paying homage to Turkiye's long and illustrious history of this remarkable art form while honoring the boldness you loved in our original Ottoman!
Crafted ethically and sustainably, using the beloved weaving technique that made our Ottoman famous, our newest Oddbird layer checks every box we envisioned during the redesign.
Boasting a stunning weight akin to a light Kilim rug and a luxurious silk-like hand feel, this multifunctional heirloom layer is not only completely machine washable, perfect for both outdoor picnics and adding a touch of luxury to your home, but is also now offered in an enormous standard size!
Ethically-made in small batches and handwoven from a heavy-weight cotton blend on century-old shuttle looms in historic, Turkey. With a weight similar to a light Kilim rug, these blankets are completely machine washable, sturdy enough to take outdoors on family picnics yet are luxurious enough for use around the home to function as an eye-catching bedding layer or as a pop of color in any living room.
Please note that our beautiful handcrafted blankets are washed in a traditional Turkish soap right off the looms to eliminate any allergens that accumulate from the weaving process. The soap is scented with a fragrance that has been beloved by our community and part of the Oddbird brand for over 8 years.
The scent will slowly dissipate with laundering (which is often a sad day for our customers!) but may not be appropriate for those sensitive to fragrance.

While I love the pattern and the color, it is not the size I expected for a King cover. I guess I missed or disregarded the dimensions in the description. The width is fine but it is barely the length (headboard to footboard) of the mattress with no overhang. I expected longer given the photo in the product description and in this survey. Photos of this cover and the older Queen sized it replaced (with the top 5" turned back) are attached for comparison

W totally understand that the blanket dimensions feel a little strange so I wanted to take a moment to explain how its designed to fit.
Our Mosaic Blanket website listing features a video where we break down exactly how this blanket is designed to fit a King-sized bed (which its pictured on). Due to the limitations placed on us by the shuttle looms we use, we opted to add more length to the blanket which actually assists in helping the blanket to be transitional from a Full sized bed up to a King!Of course, if you feel this doesn't suit your needs we can happily start a return. I’d been eyeing one of these blankets for a while but couldn’t settle on a color—they’re all stunning. I finally went with the mystery box and let fate decide, and I’m so glad I did. I received the Turquoise, and it’s perfect. Blue is my favorite color, and the blue-green mosaic complements my space beautifully.
The weight is ideal for summer, and I can already tell it’ll transition nicely into fall and winter. I would absolutely purchase again—and I’m hoping they bring back the Crimson Mosaic. Thank you, Odd Bird!

I had the original blanket in mustard stolen a couple years ago and was HEARTBROKEN. Finally was able to replace it with the new version and it's every bit as divine. The perfect neutral truly lives up to its name and it's the perfect weight. I was so excited for a little bed refresh! And I have no idea what smell is woven into this blanket, but it filled my whole room for days and it was absolutely luxurious. Enjoying the coziness, singing it's praises, and hoping for the secret of the magic fragrance ✨

Tight weave gives it a lot of warmth even though the blanket isn’t too heavy. Perfect neutral color hovers somewhere between grey/beige/taupe and looks good. Pattern is beautiful. (Bought the mustard first during the sale. After it arrived, had to take advantage of the sale and also grab the neutral.)
