Ethically and Sustainably made in small batches, and handwoven with pride on 100-year old shuttle looms in historic Turkey, this luxury towel maintains its structure while becoming softer and more absorbent with every wash.

Made from fine-grade cotton that creates a relaxed but plush textile, this towel is especially soft and feels great against the skin.

The subtle zig-zag weave is wonderfully abrasive and pulls moisture off the skin and into its porous weave with ease, making it the ideal bath towel while our Oddbird spin on a classic colorway makes it an easy piece to use and style.

Wear it as a shawl, throw it on your couch for some texture, use it as a blanket or add it to a suitcase for a fantastic travel partner.

The palette and absorbency of this towel makes it the perfect alternative for the standard terry towel in a bathroom but requires 1/3 less energy to wash and dry. Heavy weave is the best option as a bath towel, blanket or shawl to keep you warm on a chilly day.

Beautiful material

I'm pleased with the heathered/donegal knit of the towels; they are a bit larger than expected for a hand towel. But happy I can use as a shawl as well! As OddBird notes, I'm looking forward to the added absorptance after washing; I've just used them right away without washing. Great sale purchase!

Our smaller towel size is intended for use as both a hand and hair towel so we hoped to meet in the middle of both of those needs size wise. Each of our pieces is crafted with multifunctionality in mind so your scarf idea is exactly the sort of thing we envisioned for our textiles!

The towel reinvented

I decided to treat myself and was so excited to try a new type of towel. I really like the look and feel of the towel, but it isn't quite as absorbent as I expected. I have just washed it once and want to try a different detergent next time. It is also a little large for drying off which I am experimenting with. I do like using it as a blanket and shawl. I'm looking forward to trying more of your natural and unique products!

Turkish towels require a break-in period of about 3-4 washes with a low/delicate tumble dry to strip the raw fibers of the weave. Being that we don't ever use processed cottons or linen fibers, there will be this short period where you will need to give it a little extra laundering to essentially 'strip' the fibers and release its natural absorbency!
Once this has passed the towel will only get better and better as they are designed to only get softer and more absorbent with age - lasting years and years longer than Terry!
