I've been wanting a Ruya tunic for years and finally decided to get one as I have a trip to Turkiye next month and several warm weather trips planned for next year. After receiving it and trying it on, I'm so glad I did! It's perfect, especially for hot weather and travel. You can tie it in so many different ways and each way really does make a difference in the look of the dress, so it's super versatile. The material feels really breathable. I did size down (and am glad I did) because it's meant to be loose but I still wanted some shape.

Wearing my customized tunic for the first time today and it’s so beautiful! I say customized because the lovely Oddbird team shortened it for my 5’2” frame at no charge which was so appreciated. I like the simple cinched tie for today because I want to keep it very floaty for the over 90 F and humid weather today in Brooklyn. The fabric is gorgeous and the construction is such quality. Highly recommend!

I tend to wear this piece when I am going out on date night or out with girlfriends. It feels dressier to me and I feel cozy yet there is an old movie star glamour to the piece. I have it in olive green.

I have this dress in M/L which is almost perfect unless you ignore washing instructions and out it in the dryer where it shrinks. I misunderstood the fabric photos and thought I was getting that lovely soft triple gauze cotton. It’s actually a white and ivory stripe that I’m seeing and not the texture of the gauze. I find it to be fun and flattering dress to wear. If this fabric were the actual triple gauze cotton, I’d be over the moon.
I also have the olive green in XL/1XL which started off too big for me but ignoring washing instructions worked and now it fits much more nicely on me. If L/XL were a size for this dress, that’s what I would buy! The zipper is a fun choice for people, but I’ve found that the structure of it doesn’t work with the shape of my chest and it does weird buckling shapes instead of laying nicely. I’m ending up ripping the zipper out and sewing it up to length that works for me and I hope it’ll drape more nicely. I looooove the fabric of this one much more than the ivory stripe cotton. It’s got a nice feel and weight to it. And some random dude on the street told me it was a great colour.

I’m so happy I pulled the trigger on this. I got an ad for this dress and had it on my radar for months as it seemed so effortless and cool while being sustainable and from a small brand! From someone who is recovering from buying Amazon junk clothing, this was a refreshing purchase. It is packaged with love and care, and if you’re imagining how nice this tunic is to wear, you’re spot on. It really is that amazing! Please don’t hesitate on this one any longer! I get compliments and “wow that’s cool” comments every time I wear it. This dress is as great as you think it is!
